Pune, 12 October: Students of Navodaya Vidyalaya visited ‘Sahjeevan Old Age Home’ yesterday to spend a day with the elderly residents. About fifty students, accompanied by their teachers, reached the home at 10 a.m. carrying fruits, blankets and gifts. They presented songs, a short skit and a dance, which brought smiles to the faces of the residents. The students also listened to the life stories of the elderly and helped them in their daily chores. The residents blessed the children and thanked the school. The Principal said that such visits teach students to respect elders and to be sensitive towards others. The visit ended at 2 p.m. with a lunch together.
