Ans: The skin performs many important functions in our body:

- It regulates body temperature by releasing sweat.
- It protects the body from heat and cold.
- It acts as a sense organ and helps us feel touch, heat, and cold.
(b) What should you do to keep your bones strong and healthy?
Ans: To keep our bones strong and healthy, we should eat a balanced diet rich in calcium, phosphorus, and Vitamin D. We should include milk, milk products, green leafy vegetables, fruits, eggs, and meat in our diet. Regular exercise like walking, cycling, and playing outdoor games also helps in strengthening the bones.
(c) What are the functions of the human skeletal system?
Ans: The human skeletal system performs the following functions:
- It supports the body.
- It gives shape to the body.
- It protects internal organs like the heart and brain.
- It helps in the movement of the body with the help of muscles.
- It stores minerals like calcium and phosphorus.

Ans: Bones may break due to accidents or injuries. Falling from a height, collisions, or playing carelessly can cause fractures. In old age, bones become weak due to a lack of calcium and nutrients, which increases the chances of fractures.

Ans: There are four main types of bones based on their shape:

Ans: If there are no joints in our body, we will not be able to move. Our body will become stiff because bones cannot move without joints.

Ans: If there is no melanin in our skin, it will appear very pale or white. Our skin will not be protected from harmful sun rays, which can damage the body.
